About Reed
I am the Editor in Chief of Santa Monica College's student run paper, the Corsair. I have been a working journalist for 18 months and an independent tutor for two years. I have helped dozens of students at SMC achieve proficiency in the English, History, Political Science, and Journalism departments.

My approach to tutoring is very much driven by each student that I assist. I believe that in order to move past stumbling blocks on the road to proficiency, those stumbling blocks need to first be identified, and then addressed specifically and immediately. To this end, I work very closely with my students as we figure out exactly what part of the material is causing problems, and then work to alleviate those problems by talking through them.
My methodology should work for students at any proficiency level in the fields I tutor for, and at any stage in their education.
