About Hallie

Hello! My name is Hallie, and I am an Early Childhood Education graduate with a passion for helping young learners become confident, successful readers. I currently work full-time as an elementary Reading Specialist, providing targeted, evidence-based instruction to students who need additional support in phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, and other foundational literacy skills.

I believe every child has the ability to succeed when given the right tools, encouragement, and individualized instruction. My tutoring sessions are engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student's unique learning style and goals. I strive to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and celebrating their progress.

Whether your child is learning to read, needs extra support to build foundational skills, or wants to gain confidence in the classroom, I am committed to helping them reach their full potential. I look forward to partnering with families to make learning a positive and rewarding experience.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is patient, encouraging, and individualized. I believe every child learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to meet the student's unique needs, learning style, and pace. I use evidence-based strategies grounded in the science of reading to strengthen phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, and reading comprehension.

A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previously taught skills, followed by explicit instruction and guided practice using engaging, hands-on activities and decodable texts. We end each session by reviewing progress and celebrating successes to build confidence and motivation.

What sets me apart is my experience as a full-time elementary Reading Specialist, where I work daily with students who need additional support in foundational reading skills. I understand how to identify learning gaps and provide targeted instruction that helps students make meaningful progress.

My lessons are designed for preschool through elementary-aged students, especially those who are developing early literacy skills, struggling readers, or children who need extra support in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and overall reading confidence.
