About Charlie
I have a passion for education and learning. I strive to be a lifelong learner and aim to inspire students to be the same. I enjoy English and endeavour to demonstrate how English can be enjoyable. I too struggled with education in the past, reflecting on my own journey, I now feel privileged to help others that could potentially be in a similar situation to myself. I am extremely empathetic and understanding of the challenges faced in education.

I heavily favour personalised learning. I strive to create engaging lessons that work around students' interests and goals. Pedagogically, I enjoy social learning, working together to build on top of prior knowledge and develop new skills. I have used games and activities to foster success in my functional skills teaching. I am an adaptable teacher. I have experience working with people from a range of backgrounds. I strive to align my teaching with students' learning styles and preferences. Typically lessons can be an hour, but this can be flexible depending on students' preferences. I have two relevant teaching qualifications, these being a BA in Education with first class honours, and a TEFL/TESOL qualification. I also hold an A-level in English language. Currently, I am studying for a Level 5 Teaching and Learning qualification. I have teaching experience in FE; my lessons are aimed for 16-18 year olds, and can be adapted for adults. I have experience teaching all levels of functional skills from Entry Level 1 to Level 2.
