About Alexis

My name is Alexis! I am a passionate educator on a mission! I seek to help all learners, in schools or not, to deepen their understanding and love for learning. I am passionate about educational equity, social justice, environmentalism, and making this world a place that inspires all of us to be engaged. I focus on creating safe spaces that promote engaging and creative problem solving, thinking, and learning. I add empathy, passion, equity, differentiation, patience and excitement to all learning experiences that, in turn, fosters positive relationships to education for all types of learners. I intend to build learning communities that creates opportunities for collaboration and growth. I want you to feel heard and seen! My global experiences in leadership and education has allowed me to approach the learning process in many ways. I have seen what education looks like in different countries and cultures and use this valuable experience to guide my approach to teaching. I have many years of experience in individualized tutoring, organizational strategies, developing personalized study skills and techniques, as well as teaching in classrooms! I can offer expertise in not only these important skills to ensure effective learning, but also in content areas from math to history. I am ready to start valuable discussions around education, equity, the neuroscience behind learning, and more. About the lesson

I believe that kindess, patience, and empathy are very important! To learn, we must feel safe, seen, and heard. Using a growth mindset approach, my lessons will help you gain confidence and excitement about learning. My lessons are targeted to be engaging, supportive, and meaningful. Relate-ability is key! With my skills in differentiation, I am able to work with students to recognize their personal goals, come up with a plan, and achieve them. My lessons will not only tackle important subject matter but will also push for mastery and encourage hands on learning. Retention in learning happens when there is engagement and meaning! I am here to put the fun back in learning!

My lessons are for elementary and middle school students seeking support in english, literature, comprehension, writing, phonics, and math.
