About Kay
I am currently employed in my school district as a K-7 educational assistant and an early childhood educator. I am the program facilitator for the preschool and parent program. In this program I emphasize oral language skills. I am one of the first people they meet in the education system. It is my goal to help children with the building blocks of reading and writing. As an educational assistant I work with all the kids in the K-7 classrooms. I often work with neurodivergent children and children with learning disabilities. In the past I have done private tutoring for high school aged students. These students made major improvements in their studies. I tutor a variety of subjects including English, reading, writing, math, and science.

Hi! My name is Kathryn. Learning is one of my greatest strengths. I love to share this enthusiasm with others. Learning should be interesting and as much as possible, an enjoyable process. I get excited by the incremental improvements made by students. I celebrate their progress - and successes!
I love to work with all types of learners and all ages. Connecting with my students and figuring out how to guide them best as suited to their abilities is integral to my process.

Kay has been working with youth for decades, in both a recreational and educational capacity - camp counselor, swim instructor, volleyball coach, drama teacher, educational assistant - the list goes on. (I know because I’ve worked with her!) As a voracious reader since childhood, she has deep love and respect for the English language. Her writing skills are top-notch too.
