About Jayne

As stated I am an educational assistant. I have a diploma in Educational Assistance Studies as well as experience helping students of all ages with a verity of different subjects. Primarily I have worked with students that sometimes require more assistance understanding their school work, such as ESL students or students who live with disabilities. However, I have also worked in general classrooms and therefore can help with regular curriculum subject matter as well.

About the lesson

I am a firm believer in meeting the student and their guardians at their level. Therefore, I initially get to know the student and how their school day looks like. I ask about what subjects they need assistance with, what areas they find harder than others etc. From there I try to work out a system of assistance that best suits the student. This way I can help with each subject they learn at school using some of the teaching styles that they are already used to.
At the same time, I intend to try different methods of approach in order to best bring the subject matter to the students understanding.

For clients that require a structured learning system that is more actual teaching new material rather than help with school work already assigned, I will be designing lesson plans. Again, these lesson plans will be tailored to the client themselves.

For clients that required additional assistance, in particular students living with disabilities, I will require at least a minimal explanation of the extra learning amenities that they might require. For example, if the student responds better to visual learning or requires some sign language etc. Note, I am not fluent in sign language but have used basic signs for students in the past.

The travel rate depends on the distance I will have to travel with $10.00 being the maximum. We can discuss travel rate changes during the first lesson.
