I have a BA in English and an MA in Political Science. My background in education is extensive, including teaching, research, and administrative roles. I have worked with elementary students from a variety of backgrounds, including Title 1 schools and recent arrivals to the US.

I am an experienced tutor who has worked with elementary students (K-5) in a variety of settings. I believe that a solid grounding in phonics is the foundation of a confident and happy reader. A typical lesson ranges from 30 to 40 minutes, with an emphasis on phonics, word recognition, instructional word games, and stories. As a tutor, I am patient, empathetic, and have a good rapport with students. My lessons are intended for elementary level students, including mainstream students, ELL, and special needs students.
