About Mariam
Hello,
My name is Mariam and I taught elementary school as a classroom teacher for two years in third grade. I love my students and they have been my drive in this profession. "Aha" moments are my catalyst! I am now looking to expand my services beyond the classroom to reach students who may benefit from my expertise in a more tailored learning experience through one to one tutoring. I am passionate about literature and growing my students' innate love for reading.

I began working as an ELA teacher following completion of my Masters of Arts in Teaching program at University of South Florida. I taught second grade for the second half of the school year and taught third grade ELA for two years. My time in the classroom made me realize how much I long for more one-on-one time with my students that is extremely lacking in the whole group setting. This is what pushed me to seek tutoring opportunities. I believe that students have the greatest potential to make exponential learning gains through one-on-one tutoring. I am open to tutoring students in reading and writing from 1st - 6th grade. I customize my lessons based on the student's specific academic needs.
