About Sydney
I am a First Grade teacher who is dedicated and passionate about helping students grow academically while building confidence as learners. My background in elementary education has equipped me with the skills to differentiate instruction, identify students' individual learning needs, and create engaging, hands-on, supportive lessons that allow students to grow. With five years of experience as an Elementary School teacher and my Master's degree in Reading Education, I create engaging, individualized, and student-centered lessons tailored to each learner's specific needs. My teaching approach emphasizes building student confidence, strengthening foundational skills, and using research-based strategies. A typical lesson will often include assessing prior knowledge, explicit instruction and modeling, guided practice, and independent application. During my lessons, I always provide ongoing feedback. I think it is important to differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and various academic levels. My tutoring is ideal for elementary students seeking support in all subject areas as well as students who need targeted intervention or enrichment.
