About Francesco

I am a joyful, patient and passionate guy who is doing a PhD in geology here in Perth at the UWA. I am happy to be here in Australia and I want to support the community by sharing my knowledge. I have years of experience in tutoring both at university and outside as a personal teacher. I have always been able to develop an empathic, human and respectful relationship with my students considering them peers and not "subordinates". I deeply believe that the "teaching environment" is sacred and is an immaterial place that must be respected since it is where different people with different backgrounds and personal histories come together to share and increase their knowledge, and for this to occur in the best way possible, it should be the serene and respectful environment. This is the principle that characterizes my approach to teaching, other than defining me as a person.

About the lesson

I am an Italian native speaker, and I have studied Italian and Latin Grammar all my life, despite being specialized in the Scientific sector. My approach to teaching is varied, and it is mainly focused on linguistic application after a careful study of the theory. I also like to give homework that can stimulate creativity and passion for that specific language, like watching movies and listening to songs and podcasts, other than mere exercises. Otherwise, what are we studying for? We must enjoy the journey and get out from the books, sometimes! I know deeply the difficulty of these languages and I know how to approach and eviscerate them with my students. I speak fluent English thus it is easy for me to explain in detail, use metaphors and make comparisons between English and the studied language. I would provide books for theory and exercises and would establish a roadmap to follow thoroughly with my students. I have a High School Diploma in Humanistic Studies (final grade: 100/100, main subjects: Latin, Ancient Greek, Italian Grammar and literature), along with a bachelor's degree (final grade: 108/110) and a Master's degree (final grade: 110/110 cum Laude) in Geology. Also, I studied recitation, theater and other arts in important Italian theaters (e.g. Carrozzerie N.O.T., in Rome), hence I know the language from a performative point of view too. I have previous experience in teaching several subjects that range from Italian to mathematics, to physics and earth sciences. My students have always been satisfied, hence I have good references.
