About Shannon
Education doesn't have to be all stiff collars and serious faces. In fact, I firmly believe that learning should come with a generous side of fun, a sprinkle of quirkiness, and a healthy dose of laughter.
You see, I've got a dry sense of humour that likes to sneak into our lessons when you least expect it. I Learning is an adventure, and adventures should be filled with moments of joy, surprise, and even a little quirkiness.
But here's the catch - all this fun and humor comes with a side of discipline and appropriateness. I firmly believe that in our classroom, we can have a blast while still respecting the rules and expectations that help us grow and learn.
I consider myself kind and empathetic because I understand that each learner is on a unique journey. I'm here to support, to listen when you need an ear, and to lend a hand when you need guidance. However, I'm not to be taken for a fool. I have high expectations because I believe in students’ potential, and I'll challenge you to meet those expectations with determination and hard work.
Together, we'll navigate this educational adventure with kindness, empathy, and the understanding that sometimes, a good laugh is the best way to learn.

With eleven years of experience in education, I aim to bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to guide you on your academic journey. Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching and tutoring a diverse range of subjects including English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Geography, History, Natural Sciences, Physical Education, Technology, Drama, Visual Arts, Economics, and Business Studies to a diverse range of Grade 4 – 12 students, including those with special educational needs and barriers to learning.
One size doesn't fit all. I believe that every student deserves respect, acceptance, and an equal opportunity to thrive. I tailor my teaching to cater to individual needs. Questions are encouraged, mistakes are embraced and growth is celebrated.
My dedication to nurturing young minds and my commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring learning environment makes me the ideal choice for students of all backgrounds and abilities. I am not just a teacher; I am a mentor, a guide, and a believer in the limitless potential of every learner.
