About York
I am a dedicated piano tutor with more than 12 years of experience teaching students from school, college, and professional backgrounds. I enjoy helping students learn and grow in music.
My teaching method focuses on communication, flexibility, and structured learning. I understand that every student is different, so I customise my lessons accordingly. I focus on building strong fundamentals and improving gradually.
Along with piano, I teach music theory, rhythm practice, and ear training. These help students gain a deeper understanding of music. I include simple exercises and song practice to keep lessons engaging.
My unique skill is breaking down complex topics into easy steps. I help students improve their confidence, technique, and consistency. I also guide them in effective practice methods.
I aim to create a friendly and motivating environment. My goal is to help students enjoy piano and achieve their musical goals.

I follow an expressive and individualised teaching methodology that emphasises each student’s personal growth and musical expression. I believe piano lessons should be engaging, inspiring, and tailored to the learner’s abilities and goals. Through open communication, I learn about each student’s strengths, challenges, and musical interests, allowing me to design lessons that are both meaningful and motivating.
Creativity is central to my approach. Students are encouraged to improvise, compose, and experiment with various musical genres. This nurtures originality, builds confidence, and fosters a deeper connection with music. Flexibility ensures that lessons are adapted to the student’s pace, learning style, and level of proficiency, making progress steady and enjoyable.
In addition to piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This integrated approach develops technical skill, musical understanding, and expressive ability. My goal is to inspire students to become confident, creative, and passionate musicians who enjoy performing and exploring music.
