About Nini

Hey there! I'm Nini, a native Shanghainese and a polyglot Mandarin teacher with a pretty eclectic background. I've studied International Relations, worked as a headhunter and an English teacher, and am now transitioning into a career consultant. This journey has taught me one thing: everyone is a work in progress packed with potential. And the best fuel for growth? A safe, trusting environment and a supportive guide—that’s where I come in! When I'm not teaching, I’m fueled by music and sports. I love strumming my guitar, diving into social science books, and geeking out over new stuff—currently obsessed with the Dao De Jing, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and the cool concept of "Vibe Coding". About the lesson

Hey there! Welcome to my Mandarin corner! My lessons are all about you and your goals, whether that's acing an exam, traveling, or using Chinese for work. We'll use the SMART framework to make sure our sessions are super efficient and focused—no time wasted!

Forget about boring memorization. I use something called comprehensible input with real-life materials, so you learn naturally by actually understanding and using the language. A typical lesson kicks off with a fun warm-up, then we dive into new stuff, practice it together, and you get to freestyle and use what you've learned. I always wrap up with supportive and constructive feedback.

Here’s what makes my approach special: I blend positive psychology into our sessions. I love using open-ended questions to help you figure out how you learn best. It’s not just about Mandarin—it’s about becoming a more confident and independent learner.

My bigger goal? To give you the tools and confidence to learn any language you want next!
