About Andy

I have a degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in computer science. I have tutored students in several areas including leading all the engineering peer mentors at UBC who tutored and assisted engineering students. I have worked as a computational fluid dynamics researcher at UBC as well as a technical consultant at one of the big 4 consulting firms.

About the lesson

Having started my education in a Montessori school, I am a very hands-on, visual learner. I feel most people learn best this way; especially in STEM areas. I always try to teach in a way where the student truly understands what they are trying to learn rather than just memorizing the content.

Deadly! Andy is an outstanding C++ tutor who really focuses on helping you understand the concepts instead of just memorizing syntax. He takes time to explain how each part of the program works, breaks problems into clear steps, and makes sure you know why you’re doing something — not just how.
