Fully qualified Drama and English Teacher (AVCM Hons, CELTA certified) PGCE - University of York, MA - University of Birmingham, BA York St John University (winner of Dissertation Prize).
Currently trainee teacher at Archbishop Holgate's School. Trained as a professional actor with National Youth Theatre, National Youth Music Theatre, Arts Educational School Tring Park and then became a leading arts industry professional.
Stuart is expert in World Literature, English Literature (including Shakespeare and poetry expertise), English Language, Drama, Theatre Studies, Philosophy and Theory of Knowledge on the International Baccalaureate. Familiar and experienced in all UK exam boards including AQA, Pearson EdExcel, Cambridge iGCSE.

Earlier in life I was an actor, then worked in theatre and education. My work took me to the National Theatre, Globe and I worked on the London production of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman. I use that experience in both theatres and classrooms to help unlock, decode and demystify set texts and make them super accessible, and helping cover the key requirements that students need to pass exams, expand learning and progress.
Sessions are a calm and focused environment. I read lots of books every year, so have loads of suggestions and recommendations for all ages and all standards and abilities, including those students who need some more help, as well as those who are looking to reach a further potential.
Zoom rate: £80 per hour
In-person rate: £150 per hour (central York only, or available in Malton Saturday afternoons).
