About Stephen
I am a language specialist with extensive experience teaching English (ESOL/EFL).
With a First Class languages degree, I went on to study education at the University of Oxford and I am also TEFL qualified. I have taught thousands of students ranging from children just beginning their language learning journey to senior executives preparing for their next trip abroad.
I have taught English in major companies in France and Italy, and have run language departments in some of the leading schools in the UK (St. Paul's and Charterhouse), winning awards along the way for the results we achieved.
I write IGCSE language papers for Cambridge International so I have an in depth knowledge of examination processes for anyone looking to gain their next language qualification, whatever the level.
For students who are looking to learn English for business, I also bring deep insights gained from my corporate experience. I have been a company director and have cofounded two successful businesses.
Most of all, I am passionate about language and culture, and care deeply about the students I teach.

My teaching method is deeply personal - there is no one-size fits all. The most important thing is that we create a comfortable environment where you are able to try things out, make mistakes, laugh at them, and try again. You'll immerse yourself in the language, experiment and play with it whilst thinking deeply about how it works and I'll support you all the way. We'll also use the latest language learning apps so that you can keep going between lessons.
