English as a foreign language with University of Cambridge Graduate – English Literature as a tool for learning

I have taught Freya Ingram throughout the first two years of her undergraduate degree course in English Literature at Pembroke College, Cambridge, and can attest to her intelligence, writing ability, the contributions she makes to discussion and her calm and supportive manner. She has just completed Part I of the English Tripos and is awaiting her result, which I expect to be at least an Upper Second, having sailed through the Preliminary examination this time last year, I think she would make an excellent Tutor, and her application has my full support.

Freya was an exceptional student at A level; completely focused and organised. Her work ethic was second to none and her results represented clearly that she was a young woman of considerable talent. She has a natural flair for communication and is comfortable in any social setting. Whilst a student with us Freya was used on a number of occasions as an interviewer when we had applications for English posts and her observations were perceptive and enlightening. Her attention to detail and dedication along with her moral sensibility and intellectual capacity mark her out as being particularly well suited to this role.
