About Elsa
I’m a 23 year old graduate of English from the University of St Andrews, where I received First Class honours. At A-Level, I studied English Literature, Later Modern History and Drama and Theatre, receiving A*s in each subject. I also received 9s in English Literature and Language at GCSE, so it’s safe to say I know where my strengths lie! I have tutored students at GCSE level and am happy to extend my focus to A-Level. This year, I’m undertaking a masters in Poetry, so I'm angling my focus towards academia. I’m from Kent, England, and I love—you guessed it—books and poetry, as well as travelling, writing, music, yoga, etc etc... Most of all, I’m super easy-going. You won’t dread our sessions, and you won’t feel overwhelmed. What you will notice, though, is how you improve consistently over the course of our lessons. I’ll be there cheering you on through every accomplishment, big or small.

Do you need some kind and supportive guidance from a first-class English graduate? Good news: here I am, and my schedule is open and flexible all summer, so I can support you as and when you need! Our sessions will cover areas where you need extra help. This could include planning, structuring, and writing essays GCSE level and above; creative writing skills; understanding texts and how to analyse books and poems; or principles of grammar that you might be struggling with. I’m kind, relaxed, easy-going, and most of all, I’m here to support you as an individual. Our sessions can be as long as you need them, although 1 hour is a good standard I work with. We’ll take a look at common exam questions while also developing skills that will serve you across your learning, and even further on into writing applications and CV. Improving your English literature and language ability doesn’t solely benefit your school life, it impacts every area of your life. I’m based in Southeast England and will conduct our lessons virtually, unless you’re nearby, in which case I’m happy to tutor in-person. I can’t wait to meet you!
