About Martha
I grew up in London, went to university in Liverpool and moved to Bristol three years ago to pursue a career in teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP). I currently work with international students in their foundation year at university, supporting them to develop not only their English language but also academic skills such as writing cohesive paragraphs, paraphrasing and referencing.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, swimming and cooking.
I love working with language and equipping others with the skills to use it creatively and effectively, I am always looking for new ways to support students to find answers for themselves and use the broad range of online tools available to develop their knowledge of language.

I have over ten year's teaching experience, working with pre-literate to pre-master's level students. I enjoy using interactive online teaching tools such as Kahoot, socrative, Nearpod and mentimeter to develop engaging lessons and to set independent study.
I have a BA in English Language and Literature, a Cambridge DELTA (for which I achieved two Distinctions and a Merit), PGCE, and a MEd (Applied Linguistics).
