About Lavanya

When I moved from India to the UK, learning English was one of my biggest challenges. I know how overwhelming it can feel to struggle with essays, grammar, and confidence — but I worked hard and turned that struggle into my strength. I went on to achieve an A* in GCSE English Language and an A in Literature, and today I’m even in the process of writing my own book. Alongside my studies, I’ve developed a lot of experience writing CVs and personal statements, which helped me secure offers from top Russell Group universities (including King’s College London), as well as competitive degree apprenticeships with Rolls-Royce and the UK Government. I want to share my knowledge because I know first-hand that English is more than just a subject — it’s a skill that can change your future. My goal is to help students build confidence, achieve exam success, and unlock opportunities, just as I did. With the right support, anyone can excel, and I love helping students realize their potential.

About the lesson

I focus on making English practical and engaging. I break down complex topics into simple steps, use real examples from past papers, and encourage active practice through writing exercises, discussions, and feedback. For CVs and applications, I use proven structures that helped me secure places at top universities and competitive apprenticeships.

Class Structure

Warm-up (5 mins): Quick recap or short exercise.

Core lesson (30 mins): Focused teaching on the topic (e.g. essay structure, language analysis, or CV improvement).

Practice (15 mins): Guided writing or exam-style question.

Feedback & recap (10 mins): Personalised tips and next steps.
