About Ula

I am a graduate student at the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw. I am currently in Montpellier, France, where I am doing an Erasmus exchange semester. I graduated from the University of Economics in Wrocław in English. I have been learning English for over a dozen years (both at school and in private institutions and language courses), I study and work using it in everyday life. I worked as a Polish-English translator. My level of English (CEFR) is C1, with the following skills specification: - grammar B2 - vocabulary C1 - reading comprehension C2 - listening comprehension C2 I have experience in tutoring children from my immediate surroundings - family, children of friends.

About the lesson

Depending on the individual needs of the student and the chosen goal we will pursue during the classes, they can take various forms. Preparation for the eighth-grade or secondary school-leaving examination (both at the basic and advanced level) requires an approach to the subject taking into account the requirements of the CKE and examiners. Understanding the structure of the worksheet or the oral exam is crucial. In this case, we should focus on the shortcomings that the student himself notices in his knowledge of the subject and those resulting from solving the mock exam sheets. I know from experience that the best results are solving problems from worksheets and focusing on those that are the most difficult. After all, such a test is not only a test of English language skills - it is also an exam in time management, functioning under stress and planning your work. Tutoring, on the other hand, can take any form suited to the student. Depending on the needs, we can focus on revising or extending the material from lessons at school, doing homework, preparing for the test. As additional materials, we often use online platforms for language learning, series, movies, song lyrics. I can conduct classes in both Polish and English, which will depend on the level of advancement of the student, his preferences and the specificity of the situation. I assume that the fact that the student did not understand something is the result of the teacher's ineffective explanation of the concept. Therefore, I wish that we could learn from each other.
