About Lisa

I'm genuinely passionate about English Literature and History, and I enjoy helping teenagers engage with these subjects in a thoughtful, practical way. With experience working in schools and supporting GCSE students, I focus on creating a calm, respectful environment where students feel comfortable working through challenges. I take a patient, adaptable approach to teaching, aiming to build both subject confidence and independent thinking.

About the lesson

I offer supportive and personalised tutoring in English Literature and History, with a focus on helping GCSE and A-Level students build confidence and academic independence. I hold a DBS certificate, safeguarding training, and a certified qualification in working with neurodivergent children. My approach is patient, adaptive, and encouraging, designed to meet the individual needs of each student. Lessons are structured around the student’s own homework and classwork, working through their assignments together while also engaging with key extracts, critical discussion, and exam-style questions to build analytical and writing skills. My academic specialisations include Victorian history and literature, The Industrial Revolution, Shakespeare, Poetic technique and symbolism. For A-level or in-person tuition lessons are £35.
