About Nayana
I want to teach English literature because I am passionate about the subject and I believe that it can be a powerful force for good in the world. I love the way that literature can transport us to other worlds, open our minds to new ideas, and help us to understand ourselves and others better. I also believe that literature can teach us important life lessons about love, loss, courage, and resilience.
I am confident that I have the skills and experience necessary to be a successful English literature teacher. I am pursuing a Master of Arts degree in English Literature and I have been tutoring English literature for many years . I am familiar with a wide range of English literature texts, and I am skilled in helping students develop their critical thinking, analytical, and writing skills.
I am also a patient and dedicated teacher who is committed to helping my students succeed. I am always willing to go the extra mile to help my students understand the material, and I am always available to answer their questions. I am also a creative and engaging teacher who loves to share my love of English literature with others.
I am confident that I can inspire confidence, establish my legitimacy, and reassure students of my professionalism. Here is my approach to tutoring and how I teach my English literature classes:
Techniques and teaching methodology: I use a variety of techniques and teaching methodologies to help my students learn English literature. These include:
Close reading: I help students closely read the texts, paying attention to the language, imagery, and structure.
Discussion: I facilitate discussions about the texts, encouraging students to share their own ideas and insights.
Creative writing: I encourage students to write about the texts in a variety of ways, such as essays, poems, and plays.
Active learning: I use a variety of active learning activities, such as games, puzzles, and simulations, to help students engage with the texts.
Typical length of a lesson: My typical lesson is 60 minutes long. However, I am flexible and can adjust the length of the lesson to meet the needs of my students.
Qualifications/experience as a tutor: I am pursuing Master of Arts degree in English Literature. I have been tutoring English literature for many years, and I have worked with students of all ages and abilities. I am familiar with a wide range of English literature texts, and I am skilled in helping students develop their critical thinking, analytical, and writing skills.
I have taken classes in history, world history, classics, poetry, prose, drama, critical analysis, modern and ancient literature, world literature and IELTS.
Who are my lessons for (level, age, etc.): I tutor students of all levels, from elementary school to college. I am also happy to tutor adults who are interested in learning more about English literature.
I believe that the best way to learn English literature is to engage with the texts in a meaningful way.
