About Eloise

My name is Eloise, and I am an undergraduate English Literature student in my third (and final) year at the University of York. English Literature was always my favourite subject at school, and I am passionate and determined to help students do the very best they can in their exams, especially GCSEs and A Levels, because I appreciate how difficult they can be. I look forward to helping you develop your skills in the subject, both in analysing and in writing, grow your confidence and hopefully also inspire you to enjoy what you are reading and studying in English! Outside of university, I am also a freelance journalist, so I have plenty of experience in writing to be able to support students to reach their potential.

About the lesson

I deliver my lessons via Google Meet, and will use an interactive whiteboard function to display specific parts of text we will be analysing. The day before each lesson, I'll send you a message or email to ask what you would like to focus on in the lesson, so I can prepare. Each lesson will be personalised and differ for each student. We will focus first on the text then look at how best to apply what we have learnt to any exam questions, essays, or any other assignments the student has to complete. My lessons will typically last an hour, however this is flexible if a student specifically requests longer/shorter lessons.
