About Sarah Clare
My name is Sarah Clare and for as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a teacher. I struggled through school even in primary due to having undiagnosed ADHD and a different style of learning to sitting still listening to the teacher drone on current teachers are so fond of. Not everyone learns in this way and I want to change this so that all students feel they can engage with the subject and class. Ultimately my goal is to teach in high school, but due to child care issues this is postponed for at least a few years, so tutoring online is the next best thing. I love teaching and interacting with people no matter their background or where they're from.

I believe that you can succeed in everything you put the work in for. With myself there are no stupid questions, no judgement and full support. My personal approach to tutoring is to first build up trust and communication, as meeting new people, especially in a teacher/student relationship can be intimidating, if your student doesn't feel they can confide in you with problems then they won't be able to succeed under your guidance. I specialise in analysing literacy such as poetry and assigned books, close reading in school is not taught as well as it can be to those more academically minded than creatively minded, I hope to change that so that all can understand in an easy manner. I used to tutor people who needed just an extra bit of support, and people who had additional needs such as dyslexia, ADHD, Autism etc which I received an award for. I myself have ADHD, and my son has ADHD and Asperger's, so I know first hand the difficulties students can face. I strive to create an easy atmosphere, good communication, clear and concise lesson plans, and confident students.
