About Karina
I am a junior English major at Kenyon College, which is also known as "The Writers' College". I have taken a plethora of English courses, including Creative Writing, Creative Nonfiction Writing, and Old English. I love reading in my free time, and one of my favorite books is Tim O'Brien's "The Things They Carried". The reason I am interested in joining tutoring platform is because I enjoy helping out my friends and peers with their papers at school. I have always performed well in my English courses, however I do have room to improve and grow. My English professors have offered me a great foundation for my writing, and I can use my position as a tutor to impart the things I have learned to other students.

I am dedicated to helping students elevate their writing through offering keen insights I have learned in my English courses at Kenyon College. Understanding specific strategies, such as close reading, comparing and contrasting texts, and varying sentence structures are critical to enhancing a piece of writing. I offer a variety of lessons ranging from how to employ rhetorical devices in your writing to how to making your paper grammatically sound. My lessons are judgement-free zones, and no student should feel scared or hesitant to share their work.
