About Karli

Hello future students! I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) tutor who loves language learning and teaching. I live in Galicia, Spain and originally come from the east coast of the US. I have taught ESL for about 5 years and have an undergraduate degree in Spanish Language Education. I am focused on creating a safe learning space where students can gain confidence in speaking and comprehension abilities all while learning more about the target culture and communities. In my classes, proficiency is power and finding your voice in a new language is the greatest reward!

About the lesson

- Teaching method: Individualized, communicative, authentic resources and proficiency focused
- Techniques: Interpersonal practice using CI (communicative input) strategies, storytelling, thematic lessons and implicit grammar instruction
- Typical lesson: Highlights three modes of communication (interpersonal, presentational, interpretive), combines student interests and personal goals, centers around a cultural theme such as holidays, festivals, current events, uses music and real world materials to give an authentic immersion in the language
- Lesson levels: Beginner (A1-A2) Intermediate (B1-B2) Advanced (C1-C2)

Karli was an absolute dear of a teacher!!! She was very clear in explanation's and taught to the languages needs rather than basic classroom performance. She was very patient and affirming and my Spanish improved tremendously. Could not recommend her more!!

I’ve known Karli for 3 years now and all I can think of is how great she is in every way. As a person she is the nicest most charismatic and empathetic American. On the other hand, she has everything a teacher needs: patience, humor, a love for linguistics and a lot of dedication. She has helped me incredibly through this past three years and kept me in touch with the language in the most fun way.
Apart from being very amusing, she’s also very business like and trustworthy.
