About Leo

I am 20 years old and I am from Malahide, Co Dublin. I am currently studying film and music at Trinity College Dublin. I am a musician, photographer and a huge reader. I was fortunate enough to receive good teaching during my leaving cert so I want to help as many students as I can, whether that be aiming for a H1 or just to pass English. My sister who recently graduated as of this year was my first grind student and, from that, I knew I would love to do this more often.

About the lesson

Not so long ago I hated English as a subject. It really wasn’t until after the pandemic that my interest truly grew and I decided no matter what I would get a H1 in English. I was very lucky to have an excellent English teacher for the leaving cert who showed me both what examiners want to see, and what passionate readers want to see. My approach focuses on learning to love the subject as oppose to just ticking boxes. It becomes so much easier to write what you care about instead of just reciprocating generic notes. I hope to make a student feel how I felt on exam day, truly confident.
