About Zara
I completed A-Levels in History, English Literature, and Psychology (achieving A-A* grades) and now am completing an English degree at the University of Bristol. I’ve always had a massive passion for essay based subjects and tutored during my A-Levels some GCSE pupils as well as continually offering support to my peers throughout A Levels. Throughout this experience, I have helped to uniquely tailor my lessons around my pupils to play on their strengths. English is such a beautiful subject as there is no 'correct' way to do it so it means each student can have totally different approaches and still do incredibly well. It's my job to make sure they can flourish. As I am still studying myself I hope I can be a relatable figure to my students as it is all still fresh in my mind and I understand the stress of exams. With my previous pupils, I helped them to achieve two to three grades higher than they were expecting, and as you can imagine they were all delighted.

My teaching methodology is based upon truly understanding a text from all angles and exploring all perspectives to help gain a comprehensive understanding. Normally, this would involve the use of detailed research into the context around when the text was written, critical views of the text and in depth analysis of key quotes. Within sessions essay structure can be understood and learnt to create a good flow in your writing. Moreover, it is vital to make sure the information that is learnt can be retained via the use of revision tools as the more you go over a piece of information the more likely you can remember it!
