About Alexandra
I am starting my teaching career in the UK after moving from the United States. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Childhood Education and a Master of Arts in Education (SEND). I work as a communication support worker with deaf and visually impaired students and am looking to expand my teaching experience with tutoring!
I love English and literacy and would love to share that passion with my students, especially for those who would like to improve their skills or for young students that need extra support outside of school.

In my lessons, I focus on the strengths of my students to ensure they are fully engaged and understand the content being taught.
I take the time to ensure students have full understanding of what is being taught before adding on more content. I do this by using prior knowledge the students have to make connections to new topics.
Lessons can vary from 30 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on the content of the lesson and how much time the student needs to understand the topic.
Experience in small group work and individual work with English specific skills, such as reading and spelling. Also worked as a proofreader at university.
Lessons are for anyone looking to improve their literacy skills or may need assistance in proofreading.
I would be available after school (16:30), weekends, and term breaks if needed.
