About Louis-Alex
I trained as an executive assistant before starting to travel. I found myself passionate about exchanging and helping locals from countries where I was traveling to progress in English. So much so that I became a teacher for two years in Vietnam and I also set up the project of an English center for a year in partnership with two Vietnamese. I am able to teach for all ages ranging from 5 years old (with fun activities) to adulthood.

I base my method on a very simple notion: any complicated idea (or at least "a priori difficult to express") can be explained through simple words. Vocabulary in English is something that is acquired over a lifetime, so the goal is not to know all the words in a language but to be able to convey a general idea through the vocabulary that we already master. I accompany my students when they express their ideas and help them reformulate certain turns of phrase to increase their self-confidence. I also pay particular attention to the grammatical rules of English. They may seem difficult to pin down but if they are explained in the right way, the fluency of the language becomes greatly improved. I only speak English. A habit inherited from Vietnam where it was impossible for me to use French to explain any notion. I do not prohibit my students from asking me a question in French but I will answer in English with simple and understandable words. Being immersed in an English environment is the easiest way to progress effectively.
