About Tatiana

My first diploma was teacher of English as a foreign language. Then, I completed post-graduate studies in linguistics and defended a thesis in English Etymology. In Russia, I taught English to many age groups, from elementary school students to university level, in groups and privately. I like a one-on-one approach as I enjoy "tailoring" teaching specifically to my student's needs. I have been living in Canada for 20 years now and can say that English became my first language. I worked an office job for some years but now I would like to return to teaching. I find it emotionally rewarding and I find there is nothing more exciting than helping one's students achieve improving their language skills, to be able to communicate better. In 2022, I got my CELTA certificate from Cambridge, so I'm fully equipped to teach online!

About the lesson

I will start by identifying your needs. What is your current situation? Are you getting ready for a test/exam, do you want to write your job resume, or do you wish to be able to strike a conversation in English while on vacation? Driven by that, my typical lesson will have a warm-up, the core topic vocabulary, some grammar to help the structure, and we can even throw some singing in! We will finish with a "takeaway" summary and a bit of homework to go.
