About Onika
I'm a curious individual who asks questions to understand how processes work and find more effective solutions.I always saw myself as a popular teacher amongst my students. But not because I take it easy with them, giving them better grades than they deserve, or letting them do what they please in the lessons. I hope to gain their trust by offering them engaging and interesting teaching, making sure that they stay motivated and do not find the classes mundane or boring. In my opinion, many students lack motivation nowadays. Hence it is crucial to make the classes more interesting for them, applying different teaching methods, using technology in the classes, and so on. I see myself as a teacher who does all these things, with a sole goal of helping each of their students to reach their full potential.

I have an enthusiastic , a caring attitude, and a love of learning. I am able to teach in English as the only primary language. At the start of each meeting, I ask the student how they're feeling, like if they're tired or excited about something going on in their life. This helps me better prepare for any distractions or a slow lesson, and I think this also lets them know that I care about their well-being and not just that they're at the lesson. Then, I ask how if they had any wins since we last met. I find that starting with this positivity helps both of us focus on the good, which often makes for a more productive session.
I then go over the agenda for the session so that they know what to expect. I also typically give them a brief quiz to go over the previous sessions' topics and see what they remember and or where they may need additional work. After the review, I try to connect how those previous topics relate to what we're going over in the current session. I go through the lesson, which typically involves the student reading material aloud and discussing the prompts with me. Finally, I leave at least five minutes at the end of the session for any additional questions about the material. And anyone willing to learn is more than welcome you can either be a beginner or intermediate I can cater for you.
