About Ximena

I am a young woman passionate about the English language, I have been studying it as a second language since I was a little girl. I grew up in a border city, so my contact with English was inevitable. I began to be more interested in him, and at the age of 12 I obtained the B1 certificate from the University of Cambridge from the secondary school where I was studying. I was the only student to advance to that level in the test. From there, I realized that English opens doors, and I devoted myself to study it thoroughly. Today, I can say that many of the experiences that have enriched my life are due to my knowledge of that language; people, places, music, books, who have contributed to me and with whom I would not have been able to interact if I did not know English. Anyway, I would like to share with my students the knowledge I have of this beautiful language, as well as the techniques and tips that have worked for me throughout this adventure.

About the lesson

My beginnings as a teacher were quite informal, helping my classmates with homework or essays that they had to write, or correct the work they had already done. Now that I have decided to formalize my teaching, my approach has changed a lot, as well as the objectives that I would like my students to reach, such as: - Understanding everyday and useful texts (newspaper articles or online magazines, news, entertainment, advertisements, etc. ) - Understand literary texts such as poetry and books - Understand oral expression such as that used in movies, television programs, podcasts or internet radio programs. - Generate oral and written expression that is clear and understandable - Acquire confidence in their abilities to demonstrate the aforementioned skills I would like to direct my classes to adults with prior knowledge of the English language (basic-intermediate level), in order to polish the skills that they already have. My teaching method is very practical, it is adapted to each student and their needs and interests. I think I distinguish myself from other teachers because of how immersive and rich my experience with the language has been, as well as my passion for sharing it, which contrast with my youth. I see it as an advantage, I like to teach in a fun, young, fresh way.
