About Kay
My name is Kay and I am 33 years old. I was born in Canada and brought up in Malta. Therefore, my native language is English and my second language is Maltese. I also speak French, some German, and a little bit of Spanish.
I have been teaching English for over 10 years with students from all over the world. I have lived and worked in different countries including England, Australia, France, and Germany.
I currently live in Hamburg Germany where I work as a freelance language teacher. Here I teach professionals in companies all over the city and unemployed individuals looking to put English on their CV.
Building relationships with people and learning about different cultures and languages is one of my passions. Furthermore, I am lucky enough to have a job that fulfills such a passion.

My teaching approach is to create a safe and productive learning environment.
I realize how difficult it is to learn a new language and how uncomfortable we feel to speak it. Therefore, it is my job to create a space in which the learner feels safe and comfortable to practice.
Additionally, I am very experienced in creating tailored teaching plans. These plans usually include all the necessary functions to learn a language: speaking, listening, reading, and grammar. I have been quite successful at teaching grammar in an easy to understand way.
Finally, in the world of globalization, I realize that people from all over the world are working in English. Therefore, I specialize in offering business English lessons. Using business resources for our lessons I am experienced in covering a variety of topics such as: CVs, interviews, presentations, emailing, telephoning, intercultural communication and more.
