About Stacy
I have taught college writing, business writing, digital communications, poetry, literature, and rhetoric since 2011. I have worked with students ranging from 9th grade to graduate students, and I have taught both online and face-to-face courses.
I have also served as an editor and reviewer for multiple scholarly journals in the fields of Rhetoric and Composition, and Multiliteracy Center studies.
Nothing brings me as much happiness as watching that "aha!" moment when a student genuinely learns something new!

I like to incorporate variety in my teaching. When working with an individual, I will ask that student to take the new knowledge they're gaining and present it in different formats--writing, drawing, dancing, even baking! I believe that mastery of material can be expressed in multiple ways, though I will always relate content back to writing.
When working with groups, I use a combination of individual thinking and writing time, then paired discussion, and finally, larger group work. I believe this helps create a feeling of community and professionalism, and I love seeing my students participate in enlightened discussion within their newly established community of scholars!
