About Jessie

I’m a qualified English teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching students from primary age through to A-Level. My background spans both mainstream education (5 years) and SEND settings (5 years), giving me a strong understanding of how to adapt learning to suit a wide range of needs and abilities.

Throughout my career, I’ve supported students to build confidence, improve their literacy skills, and achieve outcomes they didn’t think were possible. I have a particular strength in working with underachieving or disengaged learners—especially boys—helping them reconnect with learning in a way that feels relevant and manageable.

I believe English should feel accessible and purposeful, not overwhelming. My sessions are calm, supportive, and tailored to each individual, whether that’s boosting reading and writing skills, preparing for exams, or developing creative writing.

Alongside academic tuition, I also support older students with CV writing and preparing for next steps into further education or employment.

I’m fully DBS checked and committed to creating a positive, encouraging environment where every student can succeed.

About the lesson

I offer high-quality English Language and Literature tuition for students from primary level through to GCSE and A-Level. With 10 years of teaching experience across both mainstream and SEND settings, I understand how to adapt lessons to suit each individual learner and help them build confidence as well as academic skills.

I specialise in supporting students who are underachieving or lacking motivation—particularly boys who may feel disengaged from English. My approach focuses on making learning accessible, relevant, and achievable, while still pushing for strong academic progress.

Lessons are tailored to each student, whether they need help with reading, writing, exam preparation, or understanding key texts. I also offer support with creative writing, helping students develop their ideas, structure, and voice, as well as CV writing for older students preparing for college, sixth form, or employment.

My aim is simple: to help every student feel more confident, capable, and successful in English.
