About Nicholas

Hi, my name is Nicholas and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I have a TESOL English Teaching certification and have been teaching English to individuals of all ages and levels for 5+ years! I was raised by my Argentinian mother and Brazilian father, so I learned Spanish and Portuguese growing up. I also speak Italian and have some knowledge of Dutch and Swedish from my recent experiences as a footballer. I have always been passionate about helping others master a new skill; especially when it comes to learning a new language. Not only is it stimulating on a personal level, but I know from first-hand experience that being able to speak one of the most widely-spoken languages in the world (English) opens up many doors.

About the lesson

Being mindful to use proper grammar and syntax, I always like to make clear to my students that slang and dialects are common in almost every setting. It's just as important to understand the proper grammar used in more professional settings, as well as the slang and specific phrases used in everyday scenarios.

I like to have a general overview and understanding of my students' goals in learning the language. This will allow me to keep the content of my courses more relevant to their specific needs. Of course, lastly, but most importantly, I want learning English to be a fun experience! Learning a new language often opens our minds to new perspectives in a unique way. That, in itself, is something to look forward to!
