I take great care to reassure my students that literature is not something to be afraid of, or indeed to be solved. But critical analysis is not just useful in a vacuum; critical thinking is a vital life skill, which will prove invaluable in all walks of life.

I've had decades of experience teaching literature of all kinds to undergraduates, and helping students to increase their reading and analytical skills, along with assistance with writing and revising draft papers.
Teaching methods include close analysis of the text, along with providing historical context. I make literature particularly poetry, less intimidating.
By the time my students finish my classes, they almost all tell me that their appreciation for and understanding of literature has increased and deepened.
