About Sam

*I tutor Primary/Elementary children aged 5-12*

Hello, my name is Sam and I am a Primary School Teacher with a 1st Honours degree in Primary Education and a private tutor. I have worked as a Key Stage 2 teacher for 4 years in a school rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted which has helped me grow into the enthusiastic teacher and tutor I am today.

I have taught all year groups in different school environments. Therefore, I have gained a vast skill-set which allows me to adapt to any child's needs appropriately. My teaching roles have provided me with access to many different resources and teaching approaches. Also, I know what schools demand from their pupils and that is why I am able to work along with their expectations and deliver useful knowledge to your children.

My clients have had great results and I pride myself in their success. I can help with Maths, English and Reading to prepare young learners in a rapid way.

As a tutor, I have the ability to detect the strengths and areas for improvement of my students and plan along with their needs. The most important goal for me is to ignite the love for learning and work hard to help my students feel secure and determined to achieve. I am always punctual, organised and passionate about my teaching.

So far, I have taken on students from EYFS to Year 6, who have ranged from reluctant learners to motivated students and helped them gain confidence and work hard towards their dreams. Additionally, I have taught children learn English as a second language.

About the lesson

After years of working working in the classroom and private tutoring, I have a tried and tested method of preparing students and getting the best out of them, whether it be helping them understand a variety of mathematical methods, close reading of texts, improving creative writing and comprehension, techniques, or improving overall in Maths, English and/or Reading.

I believe everyone learns differently and it is my job as a tutor to find out what this is and to specifically tailor my lessons to the student at hand and give them a better chance at excelling in the chosen subject.

Overall, I am dedicated to building a safe, friendly and enjoyable learning environment that fosters enthusiasm for the subject at hand. I believe learning is the gateway to possibility and that the possibilities are endless. I also believe that learning should be as enjoyable as possible and that it is always possible to muster up a little interest in any subject even with the most reluctant student.
