About Tess
My name is Tess and I am an experienced teacher, tutor and educational leader. I am passionate about supporting pupils to build confidence, overcome any barriers to learning and develop a love of learning new things!
I am a graduate of University of St Andrews (International Relations and Modern History) and learned to teach through the prestigious Teach First programme. I have achieved a PGCE and Masters level qualification in Special Educational Needs Coordination from University College London.

I am a creative, caring and child-centred practitioner with over 7 years experience as a teacher, tutor and educational leader. My work focuses on pupils in Early Years, Primary and I am also experienced in supporting young people with Special Educational Needs from ages 2-25years old.
I have an inclusive, child-centred approach to teaching and learning, which involves getting to know the pupil's individual strengths and challenges in order to identify any barriers to learning, increase their confidence and nurture a love of learning.
Depending on the age group, I am able to offer sessions of 45mins-2hours on a 1:1 on group basis. I am able to offer sessions in all areas of the Early Years and Primary curriculum, including:
- Reading and Phonics
- Writing
- Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation
- Maths
- Speech and Language development/ Speaking and Listening
- Science
- History, Geography, Art.
