About Athena

I will help people learn and practise speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in Spanish, English, Portuguese and Italian. Whether it is for help with schoolwork and tests, towards GCSE or A-Level qualifications or anyone who just wants to learn and/or perfect a language. I have studied Spanish for 8 years now and achieved grade A* at A-Level. I am currently completing a Hispanic Studies with Italian undergraduate degree at the University of Liverpool. I passed the first year of the course with a first, including two prizes for best performance in Portuguese and Hispanic Studies. In this degree I am continuing to study Spanish, Portuguese and Italian language, as well as studying the culture, history, politics and literature of countries which speak these languages. I have tutoring experience from tutoring school students in Key Stages 3 and 4 as well as friends and family. I have been told that I explain things clearly, cover topics in depth and make learning interesting. I am happy to plan out a series of sessions in line with the goals of the student or to go through work with students that they would like help with. I will set homework tasks for tutees to complete in-between sessions to consolidate material we cover and will mark any work they would like to be marked. I have a passion for learning languages and experiencing different cultures. I am also interested in art, origami, exercise, singing, dancing and cooking. Please message me if you are interested in language tuition and let me know what topics or queries you would like to be covered. I look forward to hearing from you, hasta pronto! I am Athena's tutor for Italian at the University of Liverpool. I have only taught her for one year so far, but I have already had the chance to assess her excellent qualities as a linguist. Athena is hard working and curious, she really has a keen interest and a passion for languages. Her competence in Spanish has help her making interlinguistic and intercultural connections. As she is amongst the best in the class she is often in the position to help others and I appreciate that her qualities in explaining and relating to peer students are also very good. She is reliable and has a lovely attitude toward work and others.

Athena is incredibly dedicated to learning and her committment to Portuguese in this last year - her first! - has earned her the Hispanic Studies Prize in
Portuguese Award. She is very engaged both in and out of the classroom and has attended several related cultural events.
Her work in Portuguese has been of an excellent standard and I have no doubt that she will be a superb tutor in whatever area she decides to teach.

Athena is an extremely hard working person. She has been the best Spanish VI form student I have ever taught during my 10 years teaching career. Athena is a calm and approachable person. She always conducts herself in a professional manner and has excellent relationship with peers.
Athena is exceptionally organised, she was very efficient when supporting my KS3 and KS4 Spanish classes during her VI form free periods. I am sure Athena will be an excellent tutor.
Should you require more information please do not hesitate to contact me.
