About Ruth
I am from Madrid, Spain, and have lived in the UK for more than 20 years. During this time I have worked as a Spanish translator and also supported my three daughters in learning Spanish, knowing first-hand the importance and rewards that come with knowing a second language. When they were younger, I used to teach them at home by researching material and planning my own lessons. They are now in secondary school and sixth form and in the past years I have helped my eldest to achieve an A* in her GCSE’s Spanish and continued supporting her while she is preparing for her A-level in Spanish. Also, during my last employment as a full time translator, I used to help some colleagues who were learning Spanish with their homework, oral and grammar skills.

I have a passion for languages and I am enthusiastic about transmitting my knowledge of the Spanish language and culture. My own personal experience of learning a foreign language and teaching my daughters my native language has given me a very empathetic approach. I can cater for all levels or requirements, whether is preparing for your GCSE or A-level exams, which require a deeper focus on grammar, reading comprehension and speaking, or a more relaxed approach for people who are interested in learning the language to be able to communicate on holiday, business trips or just as a hobby.
