About Thomas
Hi, my name is Tom! I have a lifelong love history. From primary school all the way to university and beyond, it was always my main interest. As well as studying the subject, I love watching historical films/tv shows/documentaries, reading history books and visiting historical locations whenever I can. I am keen to help students who are also passionate about history
I am new to tutoring but do have experience teaching in a school in York for a year, whilst at university
In my free time, I am a big football fan (Crystal Palace) and I love seeing friends and playing squash

I am a tutor and history graduate looking to provide support for history students
I achieved an A* at GCSE, an A at A Level and a 2:1 degree in history from University of York
I am well versed in exam preparation, essay writing and research. My speciality was early medieval history but I have a strong knowledge base from the Fall of Rome (studied at dissertation level) to the Cold War and Arab Israeli conflict (my main two A level modules)
I would describe myself as a patient and friendly tutor. I'm happy to take things at whatever pace is preferred and to adapt to different learning styles. I am happy to prepare new materials before each lesson based on student requirements. Lessons will be one hour but can do longer if preferred
