As a dedicated and enthusiastic 15-year-old tutor, I offer a fun and engaging approach to teaching English literacy and reading to younger kids, especially during the summer! My goal is to make learning feel like an adventure, helping students develop a love for reading while improving their skills in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Teaching Method and Techniques: I focus on creating a positive and interactive learning experience. Using a variety of hands-on activities like storytelling, interactive reading exercises, and educational games, I ensure that lessons are engaging and fun. I tailor my teaching style to each child's unique learning needs, using visuals, reading comprehension exercises, and phonics games to build their confidence and skills gradually.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
Warm-Up (5-10 minutes): A fun ice-breaker activity or a brief recap of the previous lesson to get the student comfortable and ready to learn.
Main Lesson (20-25 minutes): Focus on a specific reading skill (like letter recognition, phonics, or comprehension) with age-appropriate books or stories. We’ll read together, discuss the story, and I’ll ask questions to ensure understanding.
Activity Time (10-15 minutes): A creative exercise, such as drawing a scene from the story, acting it out, or playing a related game to reinforce new skills.
Wrap-Up (5 minutes): A quick recap, and I’ll set a light challenge for the next lesson to keep them excited to learn.
