About Kelly
I am a 22 year old native English speaker who just graduated from the Ohio State University with BA's in English and Spanish. For the past 2 years, I have been tutoring both professional and academic writing to my peers both online and in-person. With this, I have worked primarily with OSU students and faculty aged 18-30 who speak English as a second language. I also have recently earned a 120 hour TEFL and TESOL certification so I can better serve this population. I speak Spanish at an intermediate level so I am both capable of working with Spanish speaking clients, as well as simply understanding first-hand all the difficulties of learning a new language. I love tutoring because I love helping my clients reach their goals. For this reason, I hope to be able to continue my tutoring practice post graduation and help even more people!

Because of my background working as a writing tutor, my teaching approach focuses in writing and talking about writing. The action of reading, composing, and revising written English pieces uses so many parts of the brain necessary for language acquisition that I've found it to be really useful as an ESL tool. Learning a language requires speaking, listening, and writing; a session focused on writing covers each of these areas in a hands-on and personalized way. Whether you want to work on papers for school, analyze literature for fun, or improve professional documents like resumes and cover letters, I want to help you do it as effectively as possible in your second language––and improve your English while doing it.
