I have given private and group lessons and taught at the university level for 7 years and counting. I have also worked as a journalist and studied English learners to understand their challenges and study habits. I have taught pro athletes, college students, children and high-earning professional workers both in the U.S. and overseas. I have also taught English on a volunteer basis. I have studied multiple methodologies, including Total Physical Response, Task-based Language Learning and Communicative Language Teaching. I prefer a dynamic approach that takes into account the student’s immediate and long-term needs. I incorporate the Four Skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) throughout the lesson as appropriate. Overall, I conduct a relaxed yet engaging atmosphere that allows the student to have fun with learning at his or her own pace.
