I entered the private education industry immediately after graduation because I felt I could have a larger impact in a more flexible educational environment than I could in a rigid structure such as a school. Classes are heavily focused on engagement and discussion rather than lecturing. Typically a class will be 60 minutes in length and will likely involve a discussion of a piece of written work a student has produced for homework. My experience as a tutor is heavily focused around A-level exams and university admissions so classes are typically for students aged 15+
