About Lena

Hi, I'm Lena! I grew up in Austin, Texas, where live music genuinely fills every street corner and creative energy is simply part of daily life. Music shaped my personality, my confidence, and my sense of self from my earliest memories — and sharing that with students is genuinely the greatest privilege of my professional life.
I trained in classical piano from age six and contemporary voice from middle school, competed at regional and state festivals, earned All-State Chorus honors, and performed in professional community theater throughout college.
I hold a Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.Ed.) from the University of Texas at Austin, specializing in Vocal Performance, Piano Pedagogy, and K-12 Music Education, graduating summa cum laude.
Seven years of teaching. Over 3,200 hours in online one-on-one live music sessions. I know exactly how to create warm, personal, and genuinely transformative music education through a screen — and my students consistently tell me my online lessons feel more connected and meaningful than any in-person lesson they have experienced before.
The thing that makes my teaching genuinely different — I never let a student leave a session with an unanswered question. Not one. That commitment to complete clarity at the end of every lesson has become the thing past students mention most when they describe what changed in their musical education when they started working with me.
I was honored with the Texas Music Educators Online Teaching Excellence Award for my doubt-clearing approach and my student-first commitment to complete understanding. Your questions are never an inconvenience in my lessons — they are the most important part.

About the lesson

Hi! I teach online one-on-one live singing and piano lessons for K-12 students, high school, college first-year, bachelor's first-year students, and all ages.
My lessons cover Vocal Warm-Ups, Breath Control, Pitch and Tone, Vocal Range Building, Songwriting, Lyric Writing, Music Theory, Music Reading, Sight-Singing, Ear Training, Choir Preparation, Audition Coaching, Performance Confidence, Stage Presence, Performance Anxiety Coaching, Piano Basics, Piano Technique, Scales, Chords, Chord Progressions, Piano Songs, and Piano Performance.
Here is exactly how I work — message me before every session with what you want to learn that day. A specific song. An audition coming up. A piano technique causing frustration. An original melody you want to develop. I prepare the entire lesson around that request. When you log on everything is already built specifically for you.
Something I take very seriously — doubt clearing. After every single lesson I give every student five to ten minutes of completely open time where they can ask me absolutely anything. No question is too basic. No confusion is too small. No doubt gets left behind. Students who leave sessions with hidden confusion carry it into their next lesson and their next exam. I make sure that never happens. Every session ends with complete clarity — always.
I also stay available between sessions for quick doubt messages. If something comes up during practice that does not make sense — send me a message. I respond. That ongoing support between sessions is something most tutors never offer and something my students consistently say makes the single biggest difference in how fast they improve.
