About Lexie
Aside from having a passion for teaching, I have a passion for holistic approaches to health and wellness. I love to relay through my teaching, concepts that align with taking the whole person into account - lifestyle factors, stress, sleep, diet, exercise, etc. It all matters. Maintaining a lifestyle where I have balance with all of these categories is essential (because, therefore, I am practicing what I preach!) When not teaching holistic health matters, you can find me adventuring in the mountains, likely via bike or skis. My unique background in clinical exercise physiology, group exercise and personal training, emergency medicine, and holistic health gives me credibility for teaching various health science-related topics.

My teaching methods align with research in human psychology and promote optimal learning and retention. For example, any power point lectures are specifically designed to keep the learner engaged with the content. I love to create visually appealing, yet informative content that is enjoyable to learn from. A typical lesson plan will start with the context of the subject (history/background), a deep dive into specific subcategories with real examples. It typically ends with some application or real-life case studies to bring everything together for an "ah-ha" moment. My lessons in anatomy + physiology as well as exercise science are great for those studying health sciences from high school to community college and even undergraduate studies. My specialties include: Exercise Physiology, Human Physiology, Anatomy + Physiology, Clinical Exercise, Exercise and Sports Science.
